Police have arrested a female teen following a collision involving an allegedly stolen car in Parkdale overnight.

It is alleged that a stolen white Volkswagen sedan crashed into two vehicles, a Mitsubishi Triton and a Suzuki Swift, both parked in the vicinity of Brownfield Street about 11.30pm.

No one was inside the parked cars at the time of the incident.

The occupants allegedly dumped the stolen Volkswagen and took off on foot.

Swift responding officers arrested a female soon after, alleged to be one of the occupants.

Despite a thorough search of the area with the assistance of K9, the remaining alleged offenders were not located.

A 17-year-old girl from the Casey area was interviewed by police and released pending further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police allege that the Volkswagen, now seized, was stolen from a Kew address in March.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, with CCTV/dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
