Man charged after police car rammed in Seaford

Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged a man after a police car was allegedly rammed and police officer injured in Seaford this week.

Officers attempted to intercept an allegedly stolen car at a property on Seaford Road about 12pm on Friday, 4 October.

It is alleged the male driver reversed into the police vehicle and rammed into it several times.

He then got out of the vehicle while it was still moving and fled on foot.

A male police officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.

A 34-year-old Seaford man has been charged with two counts of assault police, two counts of resist police, intentionally expose emergency service worker to risk by driving, theft of motor vehicle, prohibited person possess firearm and other traffic related offences.

He was remanded to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on 16 October, 2024.
