Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged car theft and hit and run outside a Berwick hospital yesterday morning.

The 25-year-old man, of no fixed address, has been charged with several offences including:

The charges follow an alleged incident where a woman was accompanying her husband from their Ford Territory to a hospital entrance on Kangan Drive around 11.20am.

The 66-year-old woman was transported to another hospital where she is in a critical condition.
