Man charged following fatal collision in Lara

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Lara on 16 November.

It is alleged a utility and a BMW collided on the Geelong Ring Road about 11.20pm.

A passenger from the utility, a 57-year-old Grovedale woman, died at the scene.

The driver of the utility, a 67-year-old Grovedale man, was taken to hospital.

The Grovedale man has since been charged with culpable driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death.

He was bailed to appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court on 26 November.

The driver of the BMW, a 23-year-old Lara man, and his passenger, a 19-year-old Lovely Banks woman were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
