Our internship programs offer a chance to work in different departments such as:

Each program has different eligibility requirements and length of employment. The type of positions available vary for each intake of each year.
Students can follow the pathway to entry levels positions as a:
- Victorian Public Service (VPS) employee
- police officer
- protective services officer (PSO) or
- police custody officer (PCO)
Refugee and asylum seeker internship program
The refugee and asylum seeker program is a paid internship program. If you are a university student of refugee or asylum seeker status, we can match you with roles in Victoria Police.
This internship can work for you if your degree doesn't require a mandatory work placement.
The program is run in partnership with the Victorian Public Sector Commission and CareerSeekers.
Stepping Into program (disability pathway)
The Stepping Into program is a paid internship scheme. It matches university students living with a disability with roles in Victoria Police.
This program is run by the Australian Network on Disability. It gives students an opportunity to gain work experience whilst studying.
You will work at a Victoria Police office location, usually at our head office in Melbourne CBD. It can also be at another Victoria Police office location throughout the state.
There are different positions available for each intake. You will take part in a range of tasks and projects and get a supervisor and a buddy.
