Help Victoria Police solve murders being investigated by the Homicide Squad’s Cold Case Team.
Community support is key when it comes to solving some of the most brutal and violent crimes in Victoria. We are seeking assistance from the public to provide much needed information to investigators to help provide justice for grieving families.
The Victoria Police Homicide Squad currently has over 200 deaths that are classified as being a cold case, and investigated by a dedicated and experienced team of detectives. You can find out details for some of these cold cases on our Cold case stories page.
How you can help
You may recognise the names or faces of people whose death has been classified as a cold case – and police are now hoping you may be able to help solve their murders.
History has repeatedly shown that murder is often not a secret that someone keeps to themselves – and that there are people in the community with the right information to solve these cases.
There will be people who have information about each of these investigations and we urge those people to come forward and tell us what they know.
It might be that enough time has passed or perhaps circumstances and relationships have changed; it is never too late to speak up and tell police what you know.
It could be that your piece of information is the missing piece of the investigative puzzle and the one that makes all the difference.

Each case includes background on the investigation and a photograph of the victim, as well as a personal appeal from the investigator to the public for information about the murder.
Each of these victims was loved by someone – they were fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, friends and colleagues who are still deeply missed.
