Step 1: Check your eligibility and suitability to be a police officer
If you haven’t already, take our quick quiz(opens in a new window) to make sure you fulfil our basic application requirements.
Step 2: Prepare what you need for your application
You will need to submit an online application form consisting of extended written responses, including:
- personal details
- employment history
- education history
- any history of prior offences, traffic-related matters and/or police involvements.
Documents you may need
Examples of useful documents you may need to reference in your application include:
- your birth certificate
- proof of citizenship, permanent residency, or a special category visa status (in the case of New Zealand)
- change of name documents (if applicable)
- valid Australian driver licence (provisional licences are acceptable)
- current first aid certificate.
Step 3: Set yourself up for success
