Public Support Services Department (PSSD) is accountable for the provision of front-line services to operational members, services to the public and regulation, compliance and enforcement activities in the firearm, private security and weapons industries.
PSSD is comprised of three divisions:
Freedom of Information Division
The Freedom of Information Division was established after the introduction of the Freedom of Information Act 1982.
The Act confers a legally enforceable right of access to documents in possession of the Victoria Police (and any government agency - Commonwealth, State, Local Government) by every member of the community who makes written application and provides the application fee of $28.90.

Records Services Division
Records Services Division (RSD) manages the recording and quality management of key operational police and courts information, and the accountable release of information to the force, client agencies and individuals.
Licensing and Regulation Division
The Licensing and Regulation Division is responsible for the regulation of the firearms, private security and weapons industries to help create a safer Victoria.
